Back to the Grindstone

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Recently the folks over at Funbox Comedy were hired to make an ad for Sony Ericsson’s “Bring Purple Back” campaign. I had the pleasure of being half of the “emotional couple.”

Obituary

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I found Lincoln’s obituary today. I know several people have found this blog and left some thoughts for him and his family, so I figured I should pass on the information for anyone else doing a search for information. There are additional charities listed for those interested in making donations.

Sad, unexpected news

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

I found out today that Lincoln Dabagia, my commercial agent, died suddenly this weekend. I don’t have any details beyond the email.

From the email:

We are sad to inform you that Lincoln Dabagia of LDA Talent passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 8, 2008. Funeral services will be held next week in Indiana. A memorial service will be planned in Los Angeles later this month. Arrangements are still pending.

Please know that we have been in touch with SAG and provisions are being made to administer any work and pending payments. You will be notified as soon as those details have been determined. Please bear with his wife and family as they work through both their own grief and Lincoln’s business responsibilities.

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

It turned out I did get a call back on the commercial! I go back in Monday. I am so excited. Hopefully it won’t screw up meetings at work. It’s at 3 so I’ll take a late lunch. Hooray!

This week's update

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Well, I had a great audition on Wednesday. It was for Universal Studios Halloween. We had to scream, and I was really pleased with mine. I felt very ferocious. I did not get a call today, but oh well. I still feel really good about it. I’m not union yet, so that could be it, or whatever. It’s actually good since next week is a really bad for me, work wise. The client will be here, so I’d be an asshole asking to leave.

Not that I wouldn’t do it. They’d just be mad.

Then tonight I auditioned for a casting director workshop program, and I am pretty sure I got in. She gave notes at the end to both me and the guy auditioning (which is totally awesome, by the way, because not everywhere will give you feedback) and didn’t really have much to say to me other than she would email me the info later tonight. Hooray. That will be something new and fun, plus a new set of people to meet.

I also did a shoot with a photo student. If there are any really interesting shots from that I’ll post them here.

Pioneers of Tomorrow….

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Hey, some good news this past week. I booked a short video with Rabbit Animation. They have a nice studio down at the Brewery. (It’s a live/work art community near downtown LA. Lots of cool spaces.) It’s going to be a fun video for their website. The tone is mock-60’s era promo film discussing their amazing technology. It was lots of fun. I got to dig around inside a computer with ridiculous tools. The guys that worked there were great and I met another actress that was also great. It’s nice working with people you can relate to.
